Racing beat camber/caster plates
Racing beat camber/caster plates
Has anyone used these on their car ? It mentions that they require some modification of the struts ? does anyone know much about this ?
i also notice that the plates fit SA22C->FB->FC does that mean I can use a set of FC camber plates with FB struts (ignore the difference in the strut top bolt pattern as the strut isn't being fitted in an FB
)
Kind regards ~ Mike

if you don't get many answers here, you may want to check the www.mazspeed.com site.

The problem with the Mazdatrix camber/caster plates is the top bearing. It doesn't fit the stock strut shaft, so you will have to either get new strut inserts (Mazdatrix sells the appropriate part) or get your current strut shaft machined down to fit the bearing. The Mazdatrix plates are also require the use of 2.5 inch racing springs and are not easily compatible with the stock springs. As with any camber/caster plate, you will have to slot the top of the strut tower to get the maximum amount of adjustment.
I've got the KMAC plates on my '79 and with the stock spring I can get around 1.3 degrees of negative camber. To get more, I'd have to switch to the smaller 2.5 inch spring, because the top perch of the stock unit is too large and hits the inside of the strut tower if you try to get more neg camber.

Racing Beat.
I'm not sure if they have any left though. They had to search through the back of their shop to find my pair and were surprised that they even had a set left.

That sounds like more work than they hint at on the Mazdatrix site !
These will be used on RX7 struts with 2.25" springs BTW.
I can't use the Noltec type or the K mac type as i am going to be laser cutting my own custom top plates to suit the 3 bolt rx323 strut top. I am thinking about just buying a set of 200sx plates and being done with it ! ... the threads are the same diameter and i'm sure if they aren't I can machine up a new sleeve to suit. I reckon all these camber plates are pretty generic anyhow.
Cheers for the link ... I'd not been over to Mazspeed in years
