Just a couple questions.... on my '85 RX-7 the emergancy light goes on when im driving for apparently no reason-- is there a reason for that? Also, should the oil be checked when warm or cold? (I am assuming cold)

When you say emergency light are you talking about the brake light? If so, it could mean that your brake fluid is low. The light has a dual purpose.

No, the oil level is checked engine off, oil hot.
