Question about tranny and rear end fluid

I was told, that if I drain and add new tranny and diff fluid that it may do more harm than good. I want to throw Redline in there, but the person I talked to said that my seals will start leaking if I do that. Is this true?

personally, i'd think it'd do more harm to not change it. you change your oil, right?

Also if you have an LSD rear, make sure whatever gear oil you use has an LSD additive in it.
