Talking Question about Struts

(Damn, I sure post a lot of threads!)

My 84 GSL is in dire need of new shocks and cartridges all the way around. I want a stiffer ride (granted, any kind of shocks compared to all blown ones I have on there now will give me a stiffer ride).... whoa... that sounded really bad.....

Anyway, I really don't feel like paying over $100 for ONE, but whatever advice you guys can give me as far as something I can pick up at any parts store as opposed to ordering something off the Internet would be really helpful. What I'm looking for is brand/type suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Jeff

well...locally i can't help you...maybe posting something in your region?

if you use the "search" you'll find LOTS on this subject...it mainly depends the kind of ride you want...

i was in the same boat and so i went with everything new and as close to stock ride as possible...

new bushings , new shocks / struts, new springs, new tie rods, new tires, new brake calipers and lines.

this gave my car that "new" feeling you get when you are in a "new" car

if you wanna lowball it though...i would recommend going internet and not local...also, you can check the classifieds for used suspension parts as well as ebay...good luck...and remember...you get what you pay for...

Here's a related question...what is the big deal about the "Tokico" brand shocks/struts that I have read mentioned a lot?
