question about stock rear end

my v8 rx7 has a 85-gsl-se rear end in it, with the LSD. was wondering if you guys things that would hold up ot a full 350rwhp + nitrous off the launch on slicks?

fuzz. might just have to launch without spray, then hit it later on.

I have my doubts about unloading just the 350hp on the LSD.
I think it'll eithe blow up or you'll do one WICKED one wheel burnout...

Just my opinion...

try it, what's the worse thing that could happen? if your gonna change the rear end anyways. Don't forget to take a video camera along.

In short, NO! Our road race car with a 13b with header, carb, and twin plate clutch , on 12" wide road race slicks shattered the ring on an autocross launch. The ring is somewhat small anyway, and the torque hit just demolished it. Have been launching easier, but still nervous

Id say no.
The lowend torque of a V-8 is a bad thing.
Our rearends have a pretty good reputation, even with 13B turbo guys like myself.Reason is,even high powered 2 rotor rotaries lack much down low torque, usually. We arent putting down peak numbers until 4-5K RPMs.
At lower launch speeds and RPMs,your V-8 is at it's peak torque, making tons of twist.Thats what breaks drivetrains.Add slicks and Nitrous and youll very likely twist axles and break the R&P.
The LSD actually grips harder the more torque you feed it,thats the way it works. But the carrier, gears and axle shafts can only take so much.
Look for a Ford 8.8 or a Dana44 upgrade.

some guys have swapped in a ford 8.8 or simialar. Would probably break it after a few runs though. A 9 inch is really heavy, so most people try not to use them unless they have to it seems.
