Exclamation question

should i be able to turn my motor over by hand by spinning my a/c pully?

i baught my rx and got it running, it ran good for like1 hour then started acting up, i knew it was the carb. one day i got stuck and thought i flooded my motor so i took the spark plugs out and they were dry orange, so i figured i was getting fuel staved i t would run ok, then crappy so i drove it for that day then never again, ive been doing work to it like rats nest, acv and air pump removal and when i was takeing the airpump out i decided to grab the pully and try to turn it over, it turned over the whole motor i can do it from any pully as of now and i was wondering if since i was getting fuel starvation that i could of ruined something inside and lost compression or since there are no valves or cams or springs that all rotaries can be spun by hand?

yes the engine can be turned by hand.

Yes, rotarys can be turned over by hand since they don't develope compression the same way piston engines do. I'm more curious about the 'orange' plugs. Explain that in more detail.

whell i knew i had fuel problems because it was running like crap, sometimes like ide be going down a hill and floor it and nothing would happen becides it sputtering really bad i wouldnt go anywhere so obvously i wasnt getting fuel right i knew my carb was shot and long overdue for a rebuild. one day i was driving and it started running bad and i had to keep the rpm's up lol thing sounded like an airplane and i let it die, after it wouldnt start back up i cranked and cranked and nothing i figured i flooded it but when i took out the plugs they were burnt orange and not even wet, so i just looked tru the carb and opened the primaries and there was little to no gas comming out of them, i pressed the gas pedal alot before it started and i never drove it again, total of 1 1/2 days of driving it like that i hoped it clear up but no so i got a rebuild n am waiting for the carb. just hope i didnt ruin any internals with the lack of gas n oil ..........btw i was using autolite plugs which i found out suck

Yep, Autolite plugs are a big nono here on the forum. If you don't have a copy of the factory carb manual, download it from the link in my sig. The Haynes manual has some good carb pics, the the factory manual is more extensive.
