I am selling an NA LSD Diff. from a '90 GXL on ebay and I got a question from a gentleman this morning ask me, "Will this only fit a 13b motor or can I use it in a ham from a 84 rear" and I am not real familiar with the '84 model so I thought perhaps I could get ya'lls input on this. I dont want to give the guy misinformation, but i dont want to help him out!

 

If you're asking can a NA 2nd gen LSD fit in an 84 1st gen rear end the answer is yes. Although the 90 2nd gen came with a VLSD but not a LSD. A VLSD isn't going to work in a 1st gen rear end.

 

somewhere in the racingbeat or w/e old rx7 tuning manuals, it said that you could put the vlsd in the first gens. or am i forgetting anything?

 

I'm thinking because the stub axles in the VLSD are different lengths that the 1st gen axle shafts arn't going to engage where they need to
