Quarter/Wing window installation

What kind of goo does one use to re-install these windows? Just painted the 7 and need to put them back in. Having a pro come out and do the windshield (the old one was cracked anyways.) But I thought I'd save a few bucks and do the side ones myself.

Thanks
-Paul

same bonding stuff as fr windshield AFAIK - Ask your window guy what he's using, maybe buy a tube off him when he visits?

The name escapes me at the moment, but you can get it at Autozone, etc. It comes in a large caulking gun type of tube. It is usually on the shelf near the ATV and stuff like like. Believe the stuff that I used for this job was made by 3M. A bit expensive at around $13 a tube, but 1 tube should be enough to do both pieces of quarter glass. In my case, I was helping a friend replace one piece of broken quarter glass and we had a fair amount left over. The stuff is pretty messy. You might want to wear latex gloves and an old long-sleeve shirt when you do it. The stuff is black and sticky.

Urethane is the stuff in the tube.

I wasn't sure if the appropriated method was the tube or the roll of butyl.

The FSM says to use the urethane, if I'm not mistaken. That is what was on there when we pulled the old window off. Works good. You could ask your glass guy is there is a better method of doing it, though.

This might help (pg. 22):

Turns out that the FSM just says sealant, but the urethane stuff worked well.
