NOTE: i just found the audio section after posting this, sorry.



considering that the whole radio tuner/tape deck/equalizer chunk is a lot bigger thank just a CD player, what is the best way to go about putting in a CD player? it seems like i could just take out the tape deck and leave the other two sections... does anyone have any insight or pics that could help me out?

same deal with subs. i dont need to explain that.

id say its worthwhile, im guessing its an 84-85 from how you described it. im not sure how the wiring would work out, but you may be able to use the stock equalizer with the cd player if you do just replace the top portion. another option would be to get an aftermarket eq, or even a doulbe din reciever (twice as tall as typical stereo) a lot of people also run guages in that location to fill the space.

the Pioneer FH-P4200MP actually looks like its close to the same color as stock, and has that kind of feel to it ( i was just browsing online)

you could be even more crafty with it and do a center channel. there are lots of options, ive even seen lcd screens in there. your best bet would be to jsut decide what you want from it, and go from there, anything will work if you have the time and patience
