pulsing vibrations

so my car vibrates a good bit going down the road... i figure it is because of tires and different things that i'm working on getting replaced.

Here is my issue though. when sitting idle i can feel a 'wave' of vibration. like a pulse from a massage chair or something. this is car started and not in gear. is it normal.. i'm sure that it isn't but more so is it normal for the engien to vibrate in that pattern of waves even with good mounts? if it is i will just replace my mounts but if it is not then do i have something out of ballance??

not sure what it could be

does the vibration get better or worse if you sit in neutral and rev the engine a bit? (is the vibration related to poor idle characteristics or a harmonic?)

also, if you are driving down the road and throw it in neutral or just press the clutch in, does the vibration stay the same (related to tires or driveline) or does it change with the falling engine speed (related to engine vibration alone)

aye sorry for got something thanks for asking ...

when sitting at idle about 7-900 RPMs it is fine or at least it seems anyway.. but at 2k RPMs you get the feeling like a pulse vibrating chair. I couldn't tell you about going down the road right now because my shocks are bad and i think that my tires have worn bad because of shocks and struts and they may be cause vibrations going down the road. still working on getting it all straightned out. i just figured at 2k sitting still that it shouldn't do that. at about 3.5k where i normaly driver at... but sitting still at this time during testing it seems to be either mor constant or not at all ...

It vibrates like hell going down the road .. reason for new shocks and will be getting tires in a few weeks i hope. just the vibration sitting at 2k is getting to me ... makes me think that something is really wrong or is going to be really wrong. why 2k did i notice this.. choke... and yes have have tested it after driving for an hour or so and still same thing just not as evedent.

I also cannot pinpoint the driving down the road because of the amount of vibration... i am used to it right now though... i guess i can post back after i get the shocks put on tomorrow and see if there is really a difference in ride... my car might as well be sitting on a frame right now...

check the following

Sounds suspiciously like a problem my friends car had....

pull the tranny and check to make sure that all of the clutch cover bolts are in and tight !

My friend took his car to nissan for a clutch change, and when he got it back it was fine at first...after a couple of days it got a funny vibration, and it was becuase they didn't torque/tighten the clutch cover (pressure plate for you) down properly. 2 of the bolts worked loose, one came out, and it started vibrateing at certain RPM's
