Proper Sealing

Hmm, I was wondering what Type of Seals I should run on my 12A. Atkins Racing offers some Carbon ones I belive, but they mentioned that they might be a little Fragile for a Turbo Charged Application. Besides the Apex Seals and Springs what else needs to be replaced? Also I haven't done to much reading on the porting aspect of Rotary's but how much is enough to produce a steaming flow on the exhaust side? Anyone in here have something they can share with me reguarding Light Wieght Rotors?

The only reason you need lightweight rotors, clearanced rotors, carbon apex seals, etc. etc. is if you are doing some really serious revs. 8.5k plus revs, which is generally for massive streetport and bridgeported applications.

Since you are asking about all these things, clearly you don't know enough about doing a build to do a bridgeport. If you are turboing a stock port, or an extended port 12a then use factory seals. Go with a full rebuild kit because every gasket and seal will need to be replaced.

And if you are doing the porting yourself, I suggest you buy porting templates so that you have a basis to go off of. Most will be conservative so that will leave you room to go even bigger, but most importantly is smoothness of the ports.

Search, you can find lots of this basic info on the FAQs and other threads. There are threads that compare all the rotor weights and tell you which year and model they come from.
