I suggest taking measurements of the RX seating area, length, width, total height, seat height (floor board to seating area) and steering wheel to seat. Iwould do this on the passengers side too. Match those dimensions to the new seat. Then it is a matter of making whats know as a pillar block ( Bracket to hold the new seat to the old seating position) or mount the old seating bracket to the new seat. Eitherway don't forget to allow for the height of the bracket or pillar blocks in your calculation. Think ERGONOMICS! I hope this helps you in retro-fit.
I own a 95 Probe GT and and Rx7 80. I don't know if they are similair but I could look and tell you if a 95GT and a RX7 80 are interchangable. If you can find out the difference between a Rx7 80 and 81 and 93 GT and 95 GT. How ever I do know the seats are alot thicker on the Probe. You may hit your knee on the steering wheel
heh i was thinking the same thing.... my friends got a 95 pgt parts car w/ nice seats and i'm gettin a 84 RX-7 w/ decent seats, so i may replace them.
whats nice if the probe will fit get some MX-6 leather seats, they are pretty comfortable and look hella nice.

Ok, I'll go out there and start measuring. I love the seats in my 93 GT and I want something similar for the RX7. Good idea on the MX-6 seats. I didn't know they came in leather.
