priming new fuel pump

Hey guys, Ive installed a whalbro 255lb/hr external fuel pump and new lines and wired it all in. The fuel pump gets power and is definately trying but no fuel is comming out of the tank. Is there any special way to prime these? My brother suggested that, because there is no fuel in the lines, I may have to cyphen then fuel up from the tank and then try with fuel in the lines...

The pump is wired into a simple swith on my dash and no relays so it is either on or off....

Thank you
Chris

if you disconect the ruel rail line it should pump up fuel. It may just need that. Cause with no fuel in the lines the pump is just spinning right. Well bescouse ur FI ur rail is closed up. So theres no where for the air to go. once you get that line disconected it should prime intself in no time. Gonna need two ppl for this

was the engine in there b4 you did the fuel pump swap or was part of the engine swap also? if it was along with the engine swap you might have gotten the fuel feed and the return swapped on the fuel rails

Ok, verneuil, I have done what you said, and "3rd and final 7" I just took off the upper intake manifold and have now run the line straight to the fuel rail instead of to the hard line so that I can rule out any confusion.

After about 2 minutes of running the pump it is starting to sputter fuel out! yay! its more like its spitting but my battery is reading 9v so I have that charging now and hopefully it will full on flow soon...

How fast should the fuel be coming out when running the 255lb/hr?

Thanks for your help guys! That trick for pulling the line off worked good! fuel is coming! woot!
