pre-wired new window switches/center console part thingie for power window 1st gens..
Hey guys, a friend and I are making these new switch pannels pre-wired with new switches in them. I have wired to mine both windows, as well as a red switch to control my neon lighs, and a spot for my remote bass punch. We can put in holes for you all to do similar applications, or we can put in the big hole for you to seat the original stereo joystick thingie. $40 + shipping will get you the metal pannel with pre-wired switches and a diagram to hook it up to the clip (super easy) which is probably even less than what mazda wants for just that plastic junky window switch holder. No screws necessary, it will fit firmly in place. PM me if you want one!

in all honesty, I would if I knew the dimentions...
edit: I need to know the length x width (not depth) and I need to know if the wiring of the switches is the same. Maybe the entire system is already identical? I'm really not sure. Somebody who knows, please let me know. I'd like to help out all of the 1st gen'ers.

i don't know about the conversion, I would assume you could get it off of an rx-7 with power windows (was this only on the 84-85 cars?) I don't really know all that much, all I know is how to make and wire up those switch pannels and that I hope that some of you want them

faye x7, sweet
to let you guys know, a friend and I have been working on my car quite a lot, and have made custom sub boxes as well. do a quick search on "another system" and it will pop right up (i think) we have spent hours and hours working on it, including a lot of time on the switches and how to wire them up (it took us a good half hour at least just to figure out the wiring b/c the switches aren't the same as the ones mazda used). I also recomend to those of you with slow windows to get these switches, as well as clean the tracks and the windo gears. My windows kept blowing the stupid fuse, and were really really slow. They now go up and down at least 2x faster, and I can actually leave my other electronics on when I want to open and close them
long story short, I think my friend and I are gonna be doin this type of stuff for a good amount of time, and who knows, maybe even branch out from our current lineup of 1st gen rx-7's and chevy cavalier/impalla's but we need you guys to get our stuff so you can tell your friends the quality of our stuff!

Burning Oil-Grinding 3rd
Sorry man but I dislike it. first it is silver and will not match anything in the car, next It would take about 2 days till the swiches were broken.
Maybe go back and make it out of ABS and use rocker switches. the "Mo better Bass ****" looks good.

tell you the truth, i don't much care for the silver either, which is why i'm gonna make a black one (as soon as i do, i'll post pix) also, as far as the switches themselves go, they are solid like crazy. I've had them in since i started this thread, and have been pounding on them pretty good since they've been in.
faye, if you want to send me the dimentions, that's fine, but they need to be pretty exact because it fits ::perfectly:: into place, and those switches are actually rather strong, so if it doesn't fit perfectly, the switches will just lift the pannel right up...

I like the idea, but it does need Rocker switches. Perhaps slightly illuminated ones?
It would be cool with a third switch for power locks (added on), and a 4th spot for a "Security" light (like the 2nd gens).
Also, FB switches are the main contact. If you use small switches, you need to use
RELAYS, or heavy duty switches.
