power windows on an 85 no workie
hmm... well i'm sure this has been posted and answered before, but... my driver's side window will only go 2/3 of the way up. it goes up and down fine until it hits that point, then it just slows and stops. at first it was caught on the weather stripping, so i yanked that off. (i was in a dark and scary parking lot, kinda anxious just to get the window up and get of there) that didn't work. it seemed like it was catching on something metal. so today i took the door panel off and felt around and looked around and i still can't find what it is or was or isn't catching on. so.. could the motor be bad? would it just stop 2/3 of the way up like that? i can't force it or guide it any with my hands..
well thanks for reading, i'll be here til next tuesday or until my car gets stolen from the dark and scary parking lot.

Have you tried having someone press the switch UP as you pull the glass straight up?
Perhaps it's jumping out of the track at that point.

my windows were slow on my other car (83 gsl) but I have since sold it. I took the panels off like you did, but what I did was make sure nothing binding. I also wd-40'ed (greased) the crap out of the bushing and rollers. That way it will be slippery .after doing that, making sure nothing is binding, then it will be your motor or it could be the switch...I am just throwing things out there to give you ideas....Good luck...By the way , nice car, where did you get the bra (nothing personal here). I like that one, looks different than others I have seen. Let me know if you would..thanks.....cjf
