Power window pops out

Ever since I've had the car, the left window pops out of the track.

As per the FSM I have tried to adjust it without any success. The bearings on the track that attaches to the window are worn out and there is a lot of play.

I have drilled a new hole for the adjustment and have improved the movement somewhat. Apart from shelling out 240 clams for a replacement regulator assembly can I source the parts somewhere?

It pops out on the way up. It leans toward the front.

Would you be using a butterfly net or a nascar type window net?

Heh, both of mine do that, the drivers side is rare, but on occasion, the passenger side does it alot, it also likes to flex in so it goes to the inside of its seat, it sucks.

Well, you probably don't want to hear this, but the rack replacement is the only way to fix this problem for good.

The racks have white plastic rollers that slide in the tracks of the scissor mechanism to keep it all straight as the window goes up under power. When the plastic gets brittle, it cracks into pieces and then your rack has too much play to keep the glass in the forward track, or it catches in the forward glass track, pulling the window forward at an impossible angle to raise the glass. I went for years with pulling the glass up evenly by hand (using 2 fingers to push the front edge of the glass to the rear, keeping it aligned as it went up) and finally bit the bullet and bought both racks.

www.mazdatrix.com - best price on window racks at about $170 a piece. Replacement should be made with new glass mounts (plastic) x4 at $8 each, and you should be good to go.

If you plan to keep the car for any length of time, or use the windows at all, it's worth it to have it working 100% again. HTH,

I would think that a rebuild kit with 2 rollers and 4 replacement pivot pins would be a good idea. Unfortunately I've never seen rollers at the hardware store.

I'm going to go take a second look at the hardware store today though.

i had the same problem...and i solved it by buying a new track (the black rubber with the track in it) and by bending the window frame back...aparently proplr use the window frame to shut the door, and hoist them selves out of their cars...which bends it and makes it hard for the window to go up properly...try it b4 you break the bank.
