power surging

why does my car surg when I flex it and on a low tank? It doesn't surg when I have a full tank, but when it's low and if I blaze around a corner or punch the gass in 2nd the car will surg sometimes. I mean the power cuts out for a little bit the goes again, losing valuable seconds and speed. Does anyone know why my car does this?

it was orignally a 12a carb engine. Now it's running a series 4 13b injected rotary with the sweetest exhaust. (ear candy)

Fuel slosh in the tank uncovering the pickup. Put foam in the tank or get a fuel cell with foam. Or build/install a sump with a flapper/baffle to keep the pickup covered.
