This wont increase HP, but will increase throttle response. Take the spring out of the vacume secondaries on the carb. It will be a circular shaped cap on the passenger front side of the carb held on by four phillips bolts. Cut the spring in half and reinstall. I did this mod about a week ago and loved every bit of it.

Somehow open up the air filter. There are cheap kits you can buy to do this, or you can cut your air cleaner assembly apart.

Get as much cooler air as you can into the engine bay.

Take off A/C and or emissions depending on where you live.

Free H/P isn't easy to come by.

Thumbs up Cheap Upgrades

I also cut the spring but as time went buy I just took out the secondary butterfly on the carb. The spring that is mentioned is responsible for opening up the secondary butterfly - the shorter you cut it; the less rpm's it takes to open it. I did this after I installed a cold air/ram air setup which I customized myself and it only costed me about $25 bucks after getting the pipping from Home Depot. You must also install a K&N air filter to see the best results. If you want to see more ideas - just go to my car domain website as I have all my mods listed there. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/656571
