Power Hatch and other upgrades
Hi all,
My 1985 FB did not come equipped with power mirrrors, power locks, power windows, a power hatch release, or a rear hatch courtesy light.
Today at a salvage yard, I was able to snag the power hatch latch/popper assembly and cut a piece of the harness. I also got the hatch light and wires out of the back as well.
Well, my venture in saving the wires turned out to be useless, as I found out that all the plugs for both the light AND the hatch popper are already back there. I just need to cut the plastic on the rear hatch trim, but a new bulb, and plug it in.
My question mainly is, is there wiring for the hatch pop SWITCH under the dash.
If so, where is it? I don't have the switch, but I can use a universal push button that I have laying around.
I already have the power latch assembly bolted in and the wires plugged in.
Also, what is required to add power mirrors? I can grab the switch and mirrors off of an equipped car at the yard. Is there a harness to grab that plugs into a main harness for power and control?
Thanks!

I also have what you need for power mirrors so PM me if you want to look into that.

The wiring for the hatch release is all under the dash already.
As for the power mirrors, the wiring for the switch as well as the plug going toward the doors (but not into the doors) will already be there, hanging above the speakers. You just need the wiring and rubber grommets for said wiring to go out into the doors themselves (you'll see where it goes through the door jam when you open the door) as well as the mirrors and switch obviously.
FYI, no FB has factory power locks. If you were to want the power windows it's the same deal as the mirrors, all the wiring is inside the car for it, you just need the door side of the wiring as well as the switches and motors etc.
