Possible fuel delivery issue??

Just for reference, the car is an 85 GS with 18,000 miles.

I can start it up just fine, it'll idle between 2 and 3 thousand RPM with the choke pulled out, the motor doesn't mind high rpms at all. However... if I push the choke in and let it idle, the odometer will sputter below 1000rpm and the car often dies. This isn't a cold-start only type thing, I'll pull off the freeway to a stoplight and it'll do this.

I plan on doing some regular ignition system maintainence... gotta replace the distributor cap/rotor. My sparkplugs are new, but I'm gonna do a wire replacement. Just trying to make sure it's not some electrical problem that's making it idle poorly at low RPMs.

Someone mentioned I might have clogged fuel lines on an earlier thread, but I never really got a second opinion, has anyone else had this idling problem?

(Also, if anyone has any wire reccomendations for the ignition system, I'd be very obliged. However, I don't need race wires, so a $300 set is not for me, I'm an OEM kind of guy actually...)
