not make them shiney but just a nice dark black again..

and also.. what is good to use to repaint the silver metal around the windscreen black?

coz im going to respray my car yellow, and with black tiniting, black skirts, and nice black wheels i think it'll look fan-bloody-tastic!

There is rubber restoring crap from maguires(sp?).. It seems to work well.

As for painting.. I would remove all of the trim then paint it.. then put it back on the car.. There is a tool that will help you but i don't know what it would be called.. Window trim tool? hahah

Painting the trim is nice looking, but with a spray can you will get sun crack in a couple years. I really recomend you have them sprayed with automotive paint. The automotive paint mixed with the hardner will last for years, not chipping or cracking...... I did my trim, and now is ugly as hell. I am going to repaint them with automotive paint now!

Automotive paint stores sell a spray paint called ' trim'
flat black colour works well, holds up well, it's all about how well the pieces are prephared. remove the trim to be painted and remove old paint. remove any finger prints and spray 1 good coat with no runs, let dry then spray 1 more coat this time use the oven in the house to 'bake' on the coat. low heat, nothing crazy around 250 degrees and watch for 15 minutes. turn off oven leaving the pieces in the oven untill cool, remove. and you can always powder coat the pieces too.
