plug torque

It’s time for new plugs. I just wanted to check if I could get away without using a torque wrench for the plugs. Can I get away with just doing it by feel, or do I just need to suck it up and get myself a good wrench?

What a Torque Wrench?

Nah just get those bad boys tight and you should be good.

I dont think I have ever used a Torque wrench on any plug.

I agree with MattG
Tighten by hand and just a bit more after that
similar to an oil filter

sounds good, I just wanted to double check since the trusty Haynes manual reads:
Although torquing spark plugs is not that critical in normal piston-engined cars, it is very important with the Mazda due to the fact that the aluminum engine housings are not that strong, and too much pressure can easily damage them.

I haven't used a torque wrench on anything yet.

That'll only be on crucial suspension parts and **** I don't want FUBAR'd.

Fresh plugs, finger tight, then 1/3 to 1/4 turn. Installing used plugs needs less rotation due to the washer being crushed. 10 lb/ft is not much torque, don't get carried away.
