Please Help Asap!

hey guys i posted yesterday about having carb issues. well i get off work today and i go to start workin on it. and now it wont even try and crank. the tach bounces a good bit and the positive pole on the battery gets hot as hell. i checked for crossed wires and i didnt see anything. is there a fuse that blows on these 84 gsl cars that stops the spark and fuel? im gettin irratated. thanks guys and girls

if it gets hot usally that means there is a bad partial conection some where..... check batery post, post clamp conectors, where ground is on the bell housing or end plate, and check the hot on the starter.

Check your ground.. and also all the wires going to your starter.. Likely one is corroded or come off. Clean them all and use a continuity tester to make sure they are all good.

Also, if its shoritng enough to make heat, your battery will die real quickly, in fact it might get totally fried. Either way, while checking all the wiring as per above, disconnect the battery, and charge it.

Random thought - if a cell in the battery itself shorted it could do this. Got another battery to try?
