pilot bearing seal?

pilot bearing seal?

So the pilot bearing seal will just come out with the pilot bearing? And do u recomend me replaceing it?

Pull the seal 1st, and replace with a new one.

Yes, the seal should be on the outside to keep the grease in.

Should look like this, and be infront of the bearing.

I usually pack a little wheel bearing grease in the bearing, before going any further. Tends to make the bearing last a little longer, but can make it a little harder to fully seat the trans.

Mabey I used a little too much grease when I installed mine. The only way I was able to get the tranny tight to the engine was using the bolts to pull it tight. I was only able to push it on within 1" of the engine. Anyway, for the price of a new pilot bearing and seal, just replace it any time the tranny is out of the car. Its only mabey $10 for the two pieces, and its worth it to just replace the two.

Well as long as you didnt pop out the seal from overpacking it you will be fine. It needs lube in there all the bearing it is just lil pins in a metal casing, so you can bet it needs as much lube as possible.
