pilot bearing issues

well, i got my clutch in today. its just a LUK repset. tried to put it into the car earlier this afternoon and then it happened. i forgot to borrow a pilot bearing remover from my friend. aaaarrrghhh. so i tried the hydraulic method. pushing grease into the hole and packing it in to push the bearing out. didnt work. after closer inspection, i found the bearing does not have any bearings in it! and it looks like its stuck really bad. so, abandoning all hope of getting my car running today, i just packed all my things and hope the removing tool will work tomorrow.

If your going to replace the pilot bearing, just use a chisel and split the bearing race, then use a screwdriver to pry and collapse it inwards on itself. The a pair of needle nose pliers to grip it and remove it. Oh and after you put in a new bearing, A- dont forget to grease it, and put in a new pilot bearing seal to keep the grease in.

Wow, that was quick! I was about to say the E shaft metal is a lot softer than the bearing race. Be careful with a chisel.
