Reccomendations for Maaco? ...that's rare, you must have preped the surface yourself on that one.

I want to see some pics of the car in the sunlight.

Where'd ya get it, if I may ask?

Also, am I correct in assuming that the maaco job over my existing oxidized paint isn't a good idea?

Oh yeah, BEAUTIFUL CAR!

I think since theres like 50 million maaco paint centers ... the value will vary... But my buddy had a 83 rx painted there and it looked like ****, we had to wet sand the paint in several places... Eventually we got it to look very good, and then it started peeling all over the place, another nightmare... Then we repainted it, and the last time I sen it sitting in his back yard it still looked ok, mind you hadnt driven it in 2 years, but anyways.

Bringing this one back from the dead. For some reason the pics no longer work and I'm hoping that Turbovr6 will repost them.

nope that maaco brite white, not the best job, but for $250 you can't beat it. I bought the car for $400, spent $65 in parts to fix the brakes. So not bad huh?
I will be saying almost the exact same thing in about a month.

Just wanted to say the car looks great. Mine is white with gray primer right now (doing a little work here and there) but plan to get it sprayed as soon as spring roles back around.

My car now

Wow whats so funny is that i am the new owner of the car. I have had the car for over a year and a half. It did not have a racing beat exhaust. Motor had a bad oil seal. And the suspension was shot. The car now still has the maaco white. The car really is sunshine red. When i can find a good painter i will paint it original. It also has the road race exhaust system, full racing beat suspension with koni adjustables and a brand new 12a mazda reanufactured along with racingbeat lightened flywheel at 15 lbs, clutch and pressure plate. I also found a nice set of panasport 16" for it. I also have the original 79 rims as well. Car runs great and i ll never sell it. I ll takes some pics of it if anyone still wants to see it after a year or 2 ago this post was posted.

Thank You i ll have to take some pics of how it looks now. The maaco paint did not last very well and definitely is not worth a dollar. But i did redo the interior and the seats are still mint for 26 years

the paint is flaking off. Id have to say that it started flaking after three months. To me i d rather spend 250 into a good paint job. The car is originally sunrise red. I plan to have it repainted soon. I m going to take some pics tomorrow of it as it sits now. I love the first gens especially the 79's
