There was no passenger, i wish i could get more pictures, but my camera died, like physically died. About 1 hour after those pics were taken the car went to the crusher.

I did not have a passenger, but seeing how the passenger side door was in the center consol, and the bumper from the truck was sitting in the drivers seat, it's a wonder i made it. I"m really gald i didn't have a passenger with me.

Yea,my sis got T-boned at about the same speed in her Civic...but she was hit by an Intrepid.Those damn things are so wedge shaped,it plowed under her car and actually sustained more visible damage than the Civic.She fared pretty well since it wasnt a full,blunt impact....but still,her car was totalled too.

Thats one thing that scares me about our cars....the low,wedge shape is just perfect for plowing under a bigger,heavier car.Decapitation aint far away once you slip under the rocker or bumper of another car,at high speeds.

God damn that had to hurt, what's up with the head though? No medical treament or somethin? I figured docs would've shaved the area/cleaned it up and wrapped it.

Wow...It goes to show ya though..that the car was made good..Thank God for that..and Glad to hear that you are allright..Sorry about your car..I hope you get a "bonus" from the ASSHAT that hit you..(looks like mental stress,injury,pain and suffering to me..)

Time to get a new 7. Did insurance pay you?

They sent me home like that, it's not as bad today, because that was just dried blood, they gave me neosporin. Had a cat-scan... accordng to the nurse i have "A Beautiful Brain" no damage or anything... mostly it was just shards of glass, no stitches. but i did recieve a concussion.

Aside from the terrible headaches, the only part of my limbs that hurt is my right arm where they gave me a tetnus shot.


All i remember is seeing the grill of the truck about 10 feet from me, then waking up on the ground on one of those hard stretchers. Blacked out a few times, woke up once in the ambulance when they gave me an IV of Saline. Then I was in the big surgery room, all the doctors were standing over me, testing my reflexes, then jumped to being inside the cat-scaning machine.. then i was in a small room that's where i finally became lucid enough to remember everything.

My dad had the car under his name.. all i had was medical and collision, so if the car gets totalled we get nothing. and my dad didn't want to pay $150 per day to store it, so he signed the title over to the impound yard.

And here she is after turning a corner on a windy mountain road in the rain, discovering a car parked in the middle of the highway blocking the lane, and swerving to avoid being sandwiched between said parked car in front and the semi-tractor skidding on locked brakes behind me:

note the roof at the B pillar is almost touching the headrest. That's what happens when you land on your roof, boys and girls.

The good news is that your dad did not sign you over to the hospital, good bodies are valuable when they are parted out! Hated my early days in emergency patching up car crash victims, even worse was telling relatives bad news.

Make sure you get a police copy of the accident report. Even if you are partly to blame pursue a claim as it is cheaper for an insurance company to pay a small amount than pay legal costs. Is there a small claim court where you are, that way you can represent yourself?

Glad you survived and they found you had got a great brain. Not that you needed the confirmation having been wise enough to choose a RX-7.

gonna swell up for like 2 weeks, normal. feels like a muscle on your arm...

im gonna have to say good thing that u got hit from the side instead of the front. 7's tend to do a full body crumple... i see a few lookin like that in the wrecking yard... u end up like canned salmon if its head on collision.

On the lighter side, and just to be a smart ass, Find a New Barber. Glad to see you are still moblie. I can't believe the tow lot wants 150 a day for storage. That's like tripping old ladies down the steps to steal thier subsistance check.

That sucks that you didn't get a chance to take the engine out. I would've paid the 150 per day for just one day

Thanks for the support everyone. Yea the impound lot is also a police impound lot, so it's a pain in the ass to see the car, they have to take ID, and stand next to you the whole time.


I did walk away with one thing from my car, the side badge that said Mazda RX-7

idk from what he said it was only 4mph and the pass side door was in the middel of the car? i love my fb but i have takin it all the way apart and gutted it ive seen whats in them and its not much.. i would say they are well built for wrecks :(

and from the pics i have seen of FB's getting in to wrecks they have not looked good. that is why i have a cage in my car and every1 else should also if you plan on doing any kind of dumb driving in the street... ie racing,drifting,running for the cops,

Damn man, that sucks! Least you came out of it semi-okay. I feel bad for you losing your 7. It sucks that our cars are also so low-slung that no one can see them sometimes. Nearly had been in a T-bone accident myself with a pickup truck (him at fault) had I not seen him coming blindly between two cars and yanked my steering wheel to the right. *I* would've been broadsided.

40 - 50 mph from a truck at least 2x the weight of the Rx-7. It doesn't seem like unreasonable damage.

Unfortunately, when you're the smaller car in an accident, you usually loose.

you should take what you can from that car...put it into your next fb...and then bury it half out of the ground in a side lot somewhere as a memorandum...

thats utterly brutal. the most important thing is that you are ok. it sucks losing the car to an impound yard. there will be other 7's in your future. a few guys on ohiorotaries lost their 7's in the past couple of weeks. spring is not turning out to be a great time for the FBs'. i keep mine put away until may. no chances of weather causing an accident. as for other drivers, that a whole different story altogehter..

well all i can say is DAMN, and dude there was a passenger in your car you just didnt know cause the person was your gardian angel man and they were watchin out for you. Oh and sorry about the 7 im sure you'll have another one before you know it.
