Yeah both of those guys passed me, the M3 was lightly modded, the WRX in front of me had a 2.5 motor swap, FMIC, 3 inch full exhaust and numerous other motor mods but besides the rims his suspension was stock.

I kept gettin on his *** in the corners but he'd blow me away in the straigts (that seemed to be the story of the day.

I came out of the corners with enough speed (could only pass on the straights) to pass a Neon SRT-4, RSX type s, stock wrx, and 80's 911 (driver wasnt to into it, it seemed), and a 80's Nissan 200sx turbo or something.

But for 25 minutes of track time straight and $40 it seemed like a good deal.

With my new motor, see sig, I should be able to hold my own a little better.

sweet pic.... I'm surprised the guy in the Subi didn't just let you pass ... or maybe you could have pulled off into the pits and go back out again to help make some room....

Well he would pull enough in the straights to not really make it worth it, I would catch up to him usually when we had both just gotten around traffic, and on the first couple sets of turns after he initially passed me. Eventually he bridged the gap by quite a bit.

umm not sure of the names but I ran on the smaller 1.1 mile track not the larger one,

this was at hyperfest over the summer,

over all a good time watching real drifters get out there (ran on the big track)

and the beginners, who didnt do so well save a newer GT mustang and a 240sx (they were also running the smaller one at differesnt times than me)
2 of them wrecked their cars pretty badly, a 240SX and a new WRX

Isn't track time just a great way to spend time?

That new motor will really help, especially that aluminum flywheel.

Some 4.444 gears and Miata or RWD 626 semi close ratio tranny would really lower track times too. Then there's Panhard Rod and DOT R's.......

A guy named Greg with a handlebar type mustache

He was pretty cool and gave me great tips but he was like "you lowered the car too much" because I had some bumpsteer, he told me I must have cut the springs or something.

Also said my rims were to big (cant argue but I got a good deal on em, 17 konig Imagines for $420 shipped with tires) And he didnt like how much it backfired.

BTW I have RB springs and Tockico Illuminas set to 4 on the front and 3 on the rear

The srt-4 guy kept pullin on me hard on the straights but I would be going real slow behind him in the turns stayin right on his ***.
So I suppose his instructor made him wave me by.
After a few more times through some turns he wasnt slowed down by me at all on the straights b/c I kept puttin more ground on him in the curves.

I know they used to run road races at Pocono. I would assume someone runs track days there I bet.

they do... sad thing is, I'm an NNJR-PCA club member (through my bro) and they get to go there (Pocono) for ridiculously cheap.... but it's Porsche only!! They actually do a lot of tracks (the PCA that is) really cheap... Mid-Ohio was cool.... 1 of 2 RX's that was there... the other one was my instructor (in a CYM)....

good to know
I was just going with that setup b/c thats what I usually use for autox as to induce some oversteer (we have very tight courses for the most part).

Ill try the 4 2 and 4 1 setups next time.

Virginia plates! Did you at one point goto Northern Virginia Community College?

I can't remember if the RX-7 I saw there a year or two ago was "1984 RX-7" or "1985 RX-7"

I believe it was an SE... At that time it was K3 Sunbeam Silver...
