Passed CA smog!!

I'm pretty stoked right now. Got my 82 w/ 155,777 on the od to pass w/ the colors flying. A new cat and a little carb tuning by Paul down at Rotorsport in San Jose, and she smoked the new emissions tests:

MAX AVG MEAS
15mph HC 152 45 91
25mph 123 33 51

About a month ago she was considered a gross polluter and the last time she missed by 25 pts on the HC at 15mph. Not too shabby

Just shows that gen1s can pass the CA tests easily when it is properly tuned.

Congratulations, and welcome to the best forum in town.

Passed CA Smog!!

Dude, your post just provided me some major encouragement!
I've been pulling my hair out the last few weeks in worry. I receive my '79 RX-7 this week out of storage in WI and will submit her to the CA smog test right away. My RX is tuned up and everything is 1979 disco-age, bell-bottom stock.
But hey, if she doesn't pass, I guess she'll be dropped off at the California gross polluter retirement home and the head nurse nicknamed "The Crusha".

Thanks WackyRacer. I'll keep your towing service in mind, just in case.
But I have a feeling she will pass, eventually.
