I would have to dis-agree on this. By the time you add the support tubes to a pan hard setup the weight difference will be negligible. The roll center height may need to be slightly higher than a pan hard for the same ground clearance, but that is a compromise I believe will pan out.

I have driven a car (savana enduro) that had the panhard to low. It would not turn in. So I know it is possible to go to low with the roll center on the rear. The suspension modeling I have done shows promise.

Forgot to mention about my post, that there was actually 2 versions of the SDJ, one which is supposebly a bolt on affair which i've personally never seen a picture of, and the second version is the one that i have posted.

From my observations over the last 10 years at SCCA National/Regional races looking at Production & Improved Touring road race cars there are way more Panhard Bar cars than Watts link cars. The Panhard is cost effective, simpler, lighter, adjustable & it works.

I have some of the parts needed from the panhard rod conversion. We are still fine tuning production of headers (I need to solve problems I had with the previous fabricator)
