Clean the fan with a strong grease cutter, then wet sand the fan with a high grit sand paper or steel wool. (the wet being mineral spirits or laquer thinner) Then wipe it generously with some surface prep (or laquer thinner) and paint away in thin even coats.
If you don't have an air compressor and gun use Duplicolor brand paint, it bonds well to plastic and comes in a variety of colors.. if not dupilicolor then use "fusion paint" by dupont..
good luck..

I've tried the Krylon Fusion to paint some of my interior plastic pieces. I would stay away from it, if I were you. I had varying degrees of success. I'm not sure why, but some areas of the plastic seem to accept the paint well, while others would not accept it at all. I consider myself a fairly decent prep man, so I don't know why it happened. Maybe something with the old plastic..

We used to dye nylon parts before assembling high dollar RC cars. Just use standard fabric dye and hot water, let it soak until you get the desired color. I don't see why it wouldn't work on large parts like these. Just a thought...

lol. Great, now my thread turned into a world domination thread
The idea actually came from the JDM turbo 12A engine, in which the fan is painted orange.
of course, I dont think orange is in order here. Something more along the lines of blue or black (or, BOTH!)

Well, you know what I mean.
I figured theywouldn't just spraypaint their fan. It's just the concept of a colored fan that I got from them

Be careful sanding those fan blades, Dude. If you get them out of balance by taking more off some than others, it could very well set up high order harmonically cavitational turbulant pulses through the radiator... kind of like a backwards vortex randomly but regularly hammering the fins of your radiator as if there were such a thing as "chunky" air. It's ugly. DAMNED UGLY ! Last radiator I saw like that had fins that looked like an angora guinea pig with spiked hair. Be afraid !

JJ wants a fake 12a turbo! haha. kidding. (you know you want orange) i installed my e-fan, with no problems except one.. the fact that there's no shroud on it, and because i'm in AZ i should have a shroud IF my fan is more than 1'' away from my radiator (which it is)... so before summer comes, I'll put that shroud back on.

While we're on the topic of painting, What type of paint would you recommend we use on allminum (say for intrecooler pipping). Also, is there any paint that can hold up to the heat of the exhaust mani. I'd like to paint that too, in maybe a flat black, if at all possible. Sorry if I thread jacked.....my bad.
