paint for rear louvers
paint for rear louvers
Now that i have increased my thread count enuf to get sum information i need sum info on what paint to use for my aluminum louvers. Ive use the search engine provided but have found nothing. my problems is(well probably using a rattle can for starters)is that after using a krylon satin black, the paint is just crap. its was primered, sanded, the primered again, the finished with the satin black. dried for 3 days and when i went to wipe of the little bit of dust that accumulated on it, after blowing it off with my compressor, i used a FLEECE piece of blancket and it scratched in little line IN the paint like if i was using 1000 grit! WTH!
is it the paint? Do i have to bust out the gun with the compressor , or powder it. I can fix the crap outta anything but painting is my downfall. I know nuthing about it! please help, i know i sound like a little gurl but i am a perfectionist and want my louvers to look as good as the paintjod on my car. cuz rite now with the lovers on it looks extremely tacky in that rite shade of light! Any suggestions or help is greatly welcomed and thank you in advanced!

I used Krylon black on my louvers too and regretted it. It fades horribly in the sun too.
Strip it down to bare aluminum, do your primer sand primer routine again and paint it with: Epoxy Appliance Paint. They sell it at Home Depot and it's tough.

Dupli-color's Trim Paint in Black also stands up to sun really well. I use it for all my exterior trim pieces and it lasts for years. Nice smooth satin black, and one of the easiest paints I've seen to get an excellent finish with.
