overheat exhaust light causes??
The freaking light will not turn off. I advanced the timing.. it comes on after a few minutes. I retard the timing, car sounds like ****, light still comes on.
First time I noticed the light come on was when I gutted the interior and disconnected a lead that reaches to the "middle" of the car. Thats behind tranny(towards the rear of the car) and almost where the drive shaft goes. When I reconnected it everything was good. I then decided to rebuild the carb, which happend several times(lol), the first time I rebuilt the carb, I remember reading about cuting the spring to the vac acutating secondaries. I did that I cut off 1 ring. well anyway. I adjusted the air/fuel mix and everything. The runs good. Theres an occational "offbeat" here and there but its good. Light had been on since. Well, now the light is off untill the car warm up.

heh. i was away with wify.. well only cus wify thinks I am spending too much time getting the car ready. but shhhhh.. thats another story.
The cats and the header do not glow while warming up or are warm.
I think my carb is still messed up.. I literally closed the a/f ration screw and the car was running still, usally it chokes up and dies. I really need to get a timing light soon I hope.

I went hunting today! I fount that the inlet for the car was caped off and the hose for the split pipe was cut, not to mention that the split pipe is missing. I wonder if the fact that the car is not receiveing air from the pump.. if thats making it hotter and leading to the overheat..? I guess I better finish the job and get raid of the rats nest! Can I leave the air pump on and hooked up for later use?? I plan on doing the routing I saw once in someones thread where they routed the airpump into the cat.. but I can not find it and also I don't know if the check valve is a "must". If I do leave it on, I suppose I should just hollow out the cats??
