Over heating problem just got weird!

im drivin along at about 80 and this car comes out a gas station and cuts my off, ******, so i slow down and switch lanes and drop it in 3rd and i cut him off, im an ******* i know, my temp gauge starts to go up to the half way point so i slow down and take it easy. im driving along and my needle starts to drop to about the 1/3 point, it hasnt been there sense i drove her from FL to NC, and now its down to the almost the 1/4 point now. what is going on i dont understand it. i still have the t-stat in factory of course. this is boggling my mind and i dont understand can some one pls help me understand this. im really not complaining at all bc its not overheating but i think that its gettin alil too cool.

Out of curiosity, do you have the factory water pump or a "OEM Replacement"? I noticed this problem occur semi-frequently after I replaced water pumps. I attribute it to the ghetto-Velveeta factory pump's "water vanes" being lame, whereas the replacement has machined water pushers... Which create a lot more cavetation at high revs.

i got mine from mazdatrix.com as far as the inside the flows the water it look almost like a turbo compressor. if you know what i mean.

i went out to start the car today and it didnt stay as cool as it did last night. the needle went up about half way so it was a flook that it happened.
