orange '85 GSL-SE
Here are some photos I have of the car. I will get more when it actually arrives here in 2 days. So far what I know it has is: RB headers/intake, aftermarket carb (can anyone identify which one?), aftermarket cat-back, 17" Fittipaldi wheels (too big?), front and rear springs/struts also I believe, and rear seats.

I also may sell those Fittipaldi's in favor of some racing 15x7" wheels a friend of mine has but I'm still not sure about that. Mike |
that looks like an AWESOME car!!! i am so very very envious of you!! how? where? how much, was it?? man im jealous. if it runs as well as it looks, that will be a dam good car. as soon as you get your hands on it, tell us more!!

Will you take a picture of the throttle linkage for me?
|
Well the Pics don't have Rear Seats.
Carb looks like a Dell'Orto:bigthumb: |
I see that he also removed the windshield and window black paint from the trim pieces and buffed them out,,,nice Tennessee big orange car,,,,,,,,,,,,

To answer some questions:
1) It didn't cost me anything really, except for transport costs and soon smog and registration costs. I traded it straight across for my '71 RX-2 to a guy in FL. 2) Throttle linkage photo, why? Just curious. 3) I don't think it's a Dellorto. I had a Dellorto on my RX-2 and it was a little different. I'm thinking it's a Mikuni or Weber. Guess I'll know for sure soon enough. 4) rear seats - can you normally see them from the rear hatch area? I was told it had rear seats but maybe not. Not really a huge deal either way. Mike |
I believe thats a Weber carb.
I want to see the throttle linkage, it looks different than mine. I like the looks of that one better. |
Damn Smeagol, Nice. You'll be expected to take me for a ride in this bad boy. Course, letting me drive it would be nice too! LOL

After Zooming in on it and Your Pic, they do look different. So to answer your question, ...I have no Idea:confused: |

looks like a weber to me too

Don't get it from Mazda Racing. They suck.
|
looks great. i was actually thinking about painting mine the same color. only i would keep the window trim black instead of crome.
|
very nice car but does everyone with a 1st gen break the lil plastic cover around the steering column my friends FB has the same problem red interior too but anyways great car have fun with it :)
|
Man, took me a minute to figure out what the little logo on the hatch is, I took it into photoshop and flipped it around, and realized it says "Rotary Inside". I was thinkin...... intel inside?

Wow! That color is amazing!
|
Ah, Rotary Inside. Thanks, I was wondering what that said.
|
So you traded that RX-2 for it, I remember when you had that thing on ebay, real nice shape, but I think you got the better end of the deal. Wish I could stumble across a sweet deal like that (wanna trade for a red 2nd gen?).
|
I thought the same thing, but my friend was real determined and wanted my RX-2 badly. There was no rust on the RX-2 which I guess is somewhat rare over there since most of the older cars come from around the east cost areas and are badly rotted.
Trade for a 2nd gen? Probably not unless it's a TII or GTUs. I want to at least get the car first before I do anything. Also, no offense or anything but red is my least favorite car color. Mike |
