I bought a smaller version of the common three piece spoiler on FB's made by a Forum member ( Fazz3 I believe) in fiberglass . I havent mounted it on my new project yet but I like its more subtle shape . It has mounting female threads inside the fiberglass in the bottom. Heres a couple pics attached of it taped to back of my old SA before it was painted .
here's a link to his thread on it

Wouldnt know, don't have a wing on my car.
I was of course speaking of track-ready race cars, not street driven cars with owners who think stickers add 5hp.

Things went bad when I decided to add structural foam inside to reinforce it. I had a local fiberglass guy pour it inside. One side wasn't strong enough to take the expansion of the foam, so it ballooned. The result was the form of the upper side was ruined -- it became less concave; almost flat.
I like it well enough and the price is low enough that I'll probably try it again . . . without the structural foam this time!

Just a thought as I was looking into the thought of an outrageous spoiler at one point, and still will if I ever see something that might look good and perform to a degree. The 1st gen Imprezas from the 90s had a low profile sport spoiler that neither looks intrusive or otherwise on the back of the car. I've got a couple friends that went wingless on theirs and decided to "test fit" it on the back of mine and it seemed to hug the rear glass perfectly. Apparently alot of those Impreza owners like to go "stance" style with their cars and in doing so remove the spoiler so if you hit up a subaru forum you might find someone near by you that might be selling one for cheap. I hear they go for as low as $25 up to $50, I would consider it if I didn't wanna be bothered with matching paint, new body holes leaking, and the carb issues I'm still trying to work out. It looks like it might look good though, I'd give it a look.

Rear spoilers can have a positive effect on both drag and rear lift. The aero of the specific body will change the results somewhat, but here's a study done on a Miata --> Miata lift coefficient and drag coefficient [Archive] - MX-5 Miata Forum
If you check the rear end of almost any highly efficient car, the transition from upper surface to the vertical surface has a sharp edge (Prius, Insight, Volt). It's best if it can be integrated into the bodywork. With steel bodies, however, a shart rear lip usually can't be formed, so rear lip spoilers are added to mimic this effect. They often include more of an up-sweep for increased rear lift reduction.
I'm thinking a small rear lip spoiler might be made to look OK on an FB. Has anybody done / seen this? (Image of a universal part attached.) And they generally attach with double-sided tape, so no holes in the body.

How well does yours fit? I have an '84, and I couldn't get it to slide all the way forward on the body and seat properly -- i.e. the spoiler was too narrow. In an attempt to fix this, I cut it in the middle, added doubler pieces, and glued it back together. That part went well. The extra 1/8" width made it fit perfectly.

I found this spoiler on an FB at Pull-a-Part. It's fiberglass and one piece. I thought the stock spoilers were 3 piece, so maybe this is a replica. No markings on it from the maker. But I managed to nab it for 12 bucks. It's going on the car after I fix the cracks and repaint it.
