One after another, won't turn over

It's one after the other, the car won't turn over.

I rebuilt the carburetor and removed the rats nest, the only tube connecting to the carb now is the fuel line, and the accelerator pulley.

The fuel tank is a bit rusty, we cleaned that out...about 2 weeks later of trying to start the engine, the fuel pump gets clogged again, and we found out the fuel is a bit yellowish.

Starter plugs are brand new NGK brands, heard they were good, no oil or liquid at the tip so it should be fine.

My resolution is starting to become drastic, don't want to though.

I think it should cost $150 for someone to weld a completely new gas tank for me, (or fill the current one with water, grind the edges and weld it shut for $50 after I clean the inside.)

And my carburator/intake manifold... think it might be easier just upgrading to an aftermarket? I have future, future plans of getting a 13b or turboing the car for more HP. For now, I just need it to run as a daily though.

Any flaws in my idea so far?

The starter turns the engine over, but it won't start? Sounds like the fuel in your tank has gone bad. Does it smell like gas or varnish? How did you clean your tank?

If the pump keeps clogging, the tank and/or the pickup screen is full of crud. You probably need to remove the tank and clean it with something like Marine Clean from POR 15.

Read his other thread.

You're in the wrong place looking at welding up a new gas tank. You need a professional to put that carb back together bc bc god knows what you removed from it when you "stripped" it. And as for emissions removal, at this point how do any of us know what you actually removed from the car?

In a SINGLE picture yesterday I identified 3 major faults at the carb itself, did you address those?

Try getting pictures of everything, and do some troubleshooting that makes sense. You havent even identified the origin of problems your car was having before you hacked it all up to "rebuild/strip" your Nikki.

Take my advice, or hang up your wrenches.
