Okay, so it's not a performance mod...

But it does look cooler than stock. My factory decal was peeling, so I decided to strip the lid down. Once done, I noticed all the little spot weld marks and knew I couldn't paint over it, without them showing through. Out comes the All-Metal putty and covered that. Sanded, primed, and layed down the first coat of "Wild Strawberry Metallic". 'Nother coat of that, then grabbed the .jpg from JeremyRiv's avatar and used it to make a pattern out of masking tape and painted over that with a generic black metallic. Looks pretty good to me. I know I didn't get the Mazda logo shaped perfect, but I tried! LOL What do you guys think?

Yuh did all right, Son

Next time you might wanna paint the top with black crinkle paint. that always looks good under the hood. Then get a section of poster board, and using an exacto knife cut out your design. try out the design of a piece of cardboard first. If you like it, then put it over your lid and spray away.
