Finishing up what is hopefully the last of the body work before I paint her in december but I'm having one issue. I have a fibreglass T2 scoop which I don't know how to install. It needs to be functional, and it needs to look good which is why I'm appealing to some of you. I know there have been a couple first geners who have a T2 scoop. I would appreciate any advice you could give or even a walkthrough.

Some of the people that have done this, or something similar don't have enough posts to know anything. Dang.
Too bad I am a petty, bitter, vengeful person.

And sorry for it being off topic, but because no one else is chiming in, I suggest an apology so maybe DriftFB will help you.

Sorry, I was bitter that day. No apology needed. You don't know how many accidents this thing has almost caused, I look away for a second, and I'm on the sholder, lol.
The way I did mine not might work for you, I took a FB hood I found in the junkyard, and I took one Z31 scoop, also from the junkyard. Used some geometry and a ruler to get a sketch positioned where I wanted it. Then torched the square hole in the hood, when to the underside, cleaned up the edges on the supports/braces. Then took a grinder and cleaned the edges up more. Went through a procces of fitting on top, grinding the bottom of the scoop, and repeating till I felt they where matched how I wanted it. Then used some bolts and other hardware to hold the scoop in place while I welded one or two points on it and molded a little (with bondo) on the underside so things looked right from the underside.
Some people say it looks like its just resting on top and doesn't look right, but oh well, thats how I want it. And for any one scared of repeating this procces, don't worry, this was my first time ever doing something "custom" like this. It was scary, I thought I was going to screw it up, but thats why I purchased extras instead of working on my only hood.
Although you have to admit, the number of posts a person has is no indication of their knowledge. And you have to admit it or karma will get you, you'll install your scoop backwards, and then every one will ask whats the deal with the guy that has the TII vent. lol, good luck.

I'm thinking there was a thread this year where someone showed how they molded a TII scoop in thier hood. There was also a thread where someone molded the hood bump from an Eclipse in. If you can find either thread, it will give you a general idea how to do it.

...I remember the eclipse hood bump but I don't remember the T2 one...if my scoop was metal I'd say no problem...cut I hole where I want it...clean the surface...weld it in...and bondo to perfection...but the dilema is I just don't know how I'm going to get a fibreglass scoop moulded in so its functional...and doesn't rip off on the highway

But you should get some spare stuff from a pic and pull, doesn't even have to be the same two parts, get a random scoop, vent whatever and some hood and practice on that before doing yours.

that thread/hood has become my car's calling card. every time I meet another Rx owner its always, "so have a hard time keeping the car in the lane on the way over here?"
needless to say, its a curse.

Funny, funny, I knew someone would say exactly what you said but hey...

Google fiberglassing, there are many how to sites out there. It's not really that hard and if you mess up, you can sand it off and start over. Between Googling, talking to my autobody supplier and practice, I managed to install the widebody kit, even cutting out and reshaping some parts of it. Prior to that I had only done some minor body work and repaired a fiberglass front air dam.
