Ok, air conditioning gurus.....

Here's a new one. Just got mine charged up, now it won't shut off. Whenever the key is on, the AC is engaged. The AC light still goes on or off, but the clutch just keeps a'runnin, even if the fan switch is all the way off.
I've looked at the on-line wiring diagrams, they're so faint/fuzzy I can't make out heads or tails. I can disconnect either of the AC relays and it shuts off.
Any ideas?

Guess I can always install a switch, but with the fog lights and flood switches, I'm running out of room!

Did you do the work, or have someone do it for you ??
It sounds like the valve is frozen open, that stuff is cold going in. check the fuse too.

I had a shop charge it up with freeze 12. The wire that engages the compressor clutch should only have 12V when you turn the AC on, right?
It has 12V anytime the ignition is on, so it's an electrical problem of some sort.

Relays can stick closed due to arcing (think welder). I wonder if the shop put a jumper somewhere to engage the compressor, since if it were low on refrigerant it was not coming on. I would have just jumpered the pressure switch but maybe they did it a different way???

Ahhh, Well I would still check out the relays, but you may be stuck with an electrical hunt with a meter and diagrams. Good luck, I'm off to the track,,,,,
