OER carb idle

ok, so i have a OER 45mm DCOE on my 13B 6-port.

i have a few running issues...one is the idle.

i cannot idle smoothly below 1,500rpm. my idle adjustments screws dont seem to have any affect...so i figured my idle jets were too large. however, the idle jets have the number scratched off, so i ordered a set of F9 60.

i put them in...and its all still the same.

also my #2 header runner is glowing red, but not the other...??

the car idled at 800rpm before with efi.

2nd problem is under WOT and under decel. under WOT i get quite a bit of smoke from the tailpipe, i also started to notice a slight miss...

under decel, i'm used to the car backfiring(coasting down from 6krpm) but right now it doesn't do anything. just coasts down..i have rb header to a free flowing muffler.

any help?

sounds like one of the idle jets isn't getting proper signal possibly.. which is creating it to not put out any fuel and making one rotor go very very lean. this could be the header glowing issue.

the smoke is most likely due to the carb running waaay too rich and since you speak of it starting to miss then that also points to that. due to this, your exhaust isn't get very hot and not causing the unburnt fuel to ignite while exiting so you don't have backfires/ flames anymore.

just a thought.

does it always glow? or just at idle.. if it was going too lean you would still have your backfires for sure. it's gotta be fat. you got a wideband?

bump. i got rid of a few vacuum leaks. still cant get it to idle down.

it seems very rich...when coasting down i hear slight pops. also theres gas pooled in the venturis while it's idling.

could fuel pressure have anything to do with this? im running a stock 12A pump and no reg.

also, the car backfires when i turn it off..i have to bog it down and shut the key off at the same time to keep it from doing it.

hep hep! im cryin over here
