OEM fuel pump difference?
Is there a difference in a 79-82 fuel pump and a 83-85 fuel pump other than looks? I'm looking at picking up a new pump for my 85 GS and I see quite a few of the 79-82 at a definately better price. The car is mainly stock(header and exhaust).
What is a good suggested fuel pump other then the $145 Airtex that Advance sells. I've heard the facet pumps aren't worth spending money and time on them.
Thanks

if you look at the FSM's for the various years they did change the fuel pressures slightly, although i'm not sure if it makes a difference.
everyone runs the carter pump, including me, but i hate the way it fits and next time i'm going to run a walbro, as they make one that is carb PSI, and you can install it on its side, so it should fit kind of like the stocker.
