Odd oil temp question
I swapped my street ported 12a (with a craked end plate ) with my stockport. The entire setup is exactly the same (besides the core engine and water pump) but my oil temps are not as stable as they used to be and are running higher.
The street port had oil temps that stayed around 180 unless I just boosted a few times and it would go to 200. With the stock port on every long highway run I get to about 210 and a few minutes at idle quickly drops the oil temp down to about 180.
Same FMOC, same radiator, flushed well and new coolant. Whats up? Do stock ports run hotter? or is there something else going on? My AFR's are the same as before and I'm running the same locked dizzy and same timing advance. I'm afraid that running at that temp might cause damage.
Any help appreciated.
