Question Odd Brake noise when reversing..

Hi guys. Something odd started happening the other day. I was rolling down my friends driveway and had to stop because some jerk was flyin down the road at like 50mph. Well, when i steped on the brake a click/pop sound came from the drivers side of the engien bay. Pretty close too. I was like.. wha? So i tried it again..same thing. When you first depress the brake pedeal it makes this pop click sound..but ONLY when Iam rolling backwards. So, if I am rolling backwards, everytime i depress the pedal it goes pop. It dosent do it when i am going forward. Now since the master cylinder is driver side of engine bay and close (thats the master right?) i was wondering if maybee it was going bad? I checked my brake fluid level and it was ok. Why is it only doing it in reverse?

maybe it's something else shifting when your car goes into reverse and banging against the firewall.

check to make sure the bolts that secure the caliper assembly are both there. my car did a similar thing a few years ago, and it turned out that one of the bolts was missing.

Check your drivers side tension rod.
