I wanted to paint my car like Iotus' color; Ocean Blue Metallic, color code L6. I went to the body shop and they had L6 but it was more blue and darker. Did I get the wront paint code?

BTW: L6 = Rhyl Blue Met

Well, two things.

1) L6 is definatly usually labled as Royal Blue Metallic
2) My car is not royal blue metallic
3) My car DEFINATELY claims to be L6
4) My car is DEFINATELY Ocean Blue Metallic....

So i donno man. I've never erally understood it, myself..

I think you are right about the mix up at the factory (from you PM) Maybe some green paint got mixed in.

The only other color I found that was close is a newer Tercel and Echo. Do you guys know any car that come close to Ocean Metallic.

I tried that already but there is no pics. There are pics on Paintscratch.com but the body shop showed me the color of L6 and it's like the first picture above. Thanks!

 

I think I found a close match. Crystal blue metallic, 2001 Miata color.

That is L6 it was for '85 only.

The one in my avatar is L6, the other is R7.

I was able to order the right paint when I did some body work on mine.

Car Quest was able to get it. It is a BASF paint.

It is also a base clear paint

I used to have a tender blue SE, but it got stolen. Anyways here it is:

 

i think i actually like both colors. my 81 was originally tender blue. some assjack painted it black.

 

Some ppl call my car's color girlie. I say to them, Wanna race? No? i thought it was girlie??
