noise when turning?

noise when turning?

ok heres the deal, i got an 85 gsl se, stock suspension, and sometimes when i take a sharp turn or a hard s shaped turn ill get a loud rubbing sound coming from the area of the front driverside tire. any one have any ideas what it could be?

take ur tire off...look for "clean" areas where the tired would have rubbed off dirt and what not. i noticed a few places while replacing brake pads

When you get it resolved let me know, cuz I have the same problem myself on my 85 GSL-SE. I think my noise is the Rt frt wheel area. I think on my car it's brake noise or caliper vibration but don't know why it does it when I make a slight turn and not braking in a straight line. It's not brake pad squeal or tire rub, its more like a lower pitched groan.

might want to also check your bearings while your checking everything else.

its not the tires rubbing cause i just put new rims and tires on, but ill keep u posted

That would be the exact reason they are rubbing.

Are they exactly the same wheels and tires? I would assume you went to something wider, taller or both. That will more than likely cause rubbing.

Also, even if you used the same size tire if it is a different brand or even a different model of the same brand they will more than likely have different measurements.
