Arrow No trailing spark,PLEASE HELP

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a series III rx7 12a. I have no trailing spark at all, leading spark is fine. I know the trailing spark is surpposed to engage when engine is under a load or choke is applied and when in 4th or 5th gear. But I'm getting no sparks at any of these events. Swapped trailing coil over with leading coil the trailing coil works, so both of the coils are operative, leads are fine and plugs as well, cleaned electric dissy contacts set timing but could only set leading timing of course. Its really starting to frustrate me. If anyone has any ideas or fixes would be highly appreciated.

Dude, first of all, trailing ignition is supposed to be firing at all times, not when under load or choke is applied, 4th and 5th, full moon...

Second, did you check your trailing ignitor? if it's fried, you won't be getting any trailing spark.

Thanks for your reply. Found the problem it WAS the trailing ignitor all along, in the owners manual(Workshop Manual) it states in order to check the trailing timing(Spark) the engine has to be at a certain RPM and be placed in 4thor 5th gear. Now I know from all of the posts from yourself and others have made, I've realised the it sparks all the time. I don't know what is going on with the Handbook. It has certainly confused me. But the main thing is I've found the problem and it was staring me in the face all along. The way I originally tested if it was the ignitor was I just swapped the Ignitor plugs over from trailing to leading to see if engine would run. Of course the engine would run but now it is running only on the trailing not leading. "Confused", The right way to check the ignitors was to take them off the distributor housing itself and swap over. The engine ran only on trailing no leading at all. So thus solved my problem, I have to get another ignitor. Thanks for your reply though.
