no trailing spark

i don't get it. i was guting out the fusable link boxes and just making the links so i could move it. and i got everything done. tested the car. it ran. i shut it off. i went inside and came back out. went to start it up and the tach jumped to 2000 or so and real jumpy while i tried to start it. then it wouldn't start. i got out and saw a little white smoke(wire burning). i looked around. one of my fusable links went bad. now i don't get a tach and the trailing side dosen't fire. the leading still fires(probably due to the msd box). i get allteh dumy lights when i turn the car on. i'm not sure if it's injecting fuel but why the **** is the trailing coils not firing?

did not it. i switched it with the leading ignitor b/c i'm not using the leading one. i trigured the MSD box off of the mag pick up in the distributor. and i still get no spark. i also don't have injectors. i think i burned out the main power wire for the injector/trailing coil/tac, they use the same power sorce. i also checked the fusable links. i unpluged them and tested them to see if they were grounded out. because when the smaoke happened the fusable link for the injectors went out too. they all checked out except for the main(big 8 gauge wire). when i tested it with an OHM meter by touching one end to the main with the battery dissconnected and the other end to the body it showed almost no resistance. so i think that might by whats going on. but i can still turn the car on and get all the dummy lights. so it has to be a wire split off the main. it makes sense that the injectors link blew if the powere sorce for them and the coil was grouneded. so i'm gona check the wires in the morning. any other ideas?

eidt: very sad that i can't talk at 1am. the main that i talk about is the middle link on the box with 3 fuseable links in it. when i talk about tessting i took the wires out the back of the box, and tested the wiring to the body for resistence to see if they were grounded.

edit: i can't even spell edit right. good job me

i spent $5 bucks and 10 hours and got my car fixed. it was one of the main relays and a wire that had been grouned out. it took forever to trace the power wire for the coils done under the battery holder under the bumber around to the other side under the wipper bottle and into the cabin. i found acouple bad sonnection though in hunting threw my wiring harness. i'm glad i spent the time. then after all that work i thought about what else coule be wrong so i test for power to the coils and got none. so i went to the relay and check for the switch and is was bad. made a jun yard run adn it's working again.
