No More CP Racing Widebody?

Did CP Racing quit making their widebody kit? I think I am going to part out my second gen and build my a turbo motor and just get a 1st gen.

Unfortunately yes, I think they did. It is a great, aggressive looking body kit. But IMO, it may be too wide for a street driven car. Definately wouldn't have any problem putting the meats under the rear of that to plant the power.

I think CP bought that from another person making it. The people making it turned around and started selling the to victoriabritish. I saw them in the catalog for 1299.00 or 1399.00 then throw on shipping so you can really feel the screwwing.

how about posting some pics here?

that kit looks killer. not a bad price too, but is it good quality?

what do you figure it would cost to have the kit molded on, and the car painted by a quality shop?

yeah they quit making it and I quit carrying it. Deleting the pic from my site now so I don't have to keep paying for bandwidth for them.

Yea i talked to cp racing and they made the orriginal mould. Then they sold it to a guy in canada who made a few for a couple years then detroyed the mould. They basically told me unless it says its used, soemone is trying to rip you off bbecause there are no more cp racing wide body kits being produced and they should all be sold by now. I got sad when i heard this

The rear is exactly the one you see on ebay, and the front is the mariah mode1 kit.

Wide Body Kit? - Do it Yourself!

A friend was ready to scrap a mid-1980s Mitubishi Starion/Dodge Conquest, which has front and rear fender flares very similar to a Porsche 944. I grabbed the body and parked it in my yard. Haven't done anything with it yet, but I think it would be a very good source for the fender flares if you are not trying to be too radical with the tire width.

You should be able to find one of these in a wrecker/breaker yard somewhere. This would have the advantage of being all steel. Just a thought for those who may have skills as a bodyman, probably not any more difficult than installing one of those aftermarket kits. Think about it.

Those who have seen my posts before know I am an all-steel kind of guy!
