NIKKI Turbo Carb Hat

NIKKI Turbo Carb Hat - Can anyone tell me how these work, how well, what it takes to hook them up?(and where they go .
I have an 85, i think s rx-7.
To be honest, I'm not that tech savy at all. I can change battery cables, and change my oil, and I know the basic components of the engine, but other than that... eh? So please be really slow and stupid with your answers. lol . I learn well with pictures.

Just basically wondering if I could hook this up myself?

So basically if I understand correctly, it replaces the stock blue thing, and then you run a hose to a turbo? And yeah, I know what they look like. Thats acvtually where I saw it was on that site.

Never said I was actually going to do it. Just saw it while I was looking through the rotary shack website. I'm new to the whole rx-7 thing. Most cars I've owned never had a carb, let alone a carb hat. I'm sorry if I'm asking questions, and trying to learn a thing or two.

How much boost can one go with with stock ports and compression on a 12A? And, how much can one plan to spend to go from the stock Nikki set-up to a basic (no intercooler) blow through system?

Depending on how new your engine is. An older engine with many miles is just a ticking time bomb. I would say you should go no more than 7 or 8 PSI if you are not running an intercooler, to prevent detonation. Also you have to bump up to prem fuel.

Expect to spend anywhere from 500$ up. Robert has a kit in the for sale section right now for 600$.

Is the $ to HP ratio good enough to justify the $600.00 with this mod. Or would it better to spend the extra, rebuild the motor, lower the compession, and go intercooler for boost in the 12 to 15 PSI range? $ for $ what is the best money spent in a ratio to HP after the mod.
My 12A has like 50,000 miles on it.

I would go blowthrough. You really cannot put a price on doing a turbo setup, it mainly depends on how much you do yourself and what parts you use. It can be anywhere from a 400$ draw through to a 4000$ blow through.

Your best bet is intercooled blow through. Do some searching on the subject, I am intentionally leaving things out
